+ description: Lady's Driving Costume circa 1811
This lady is prepared for a drive with her favourite gentleman in a fringed curricle coat of Georgian cloth. She wears it over a printed percale gown, with a bodice of plain, pleated cotton buttoned high to the throat. Her silk bonnet is a form of Trencher hat with a pleated lining to the brim, and is simply decorated with ribbons. She carries a parasol of Galatea cotton. |
