| Commission Information & Agreement |
1. payment is 1/2 upfront, 1/2 after the completion of the commission, and is through PayPal only. |
5. we can negotiate your purchase of a print or the original art if you like (but I reserve the right not to sell the original). |
2. your commission will be completed within two months of our agreement. |
6. please inform me beforehand of the image dimensions you require (for example, your publisher's guidelines). |
3. you are buying the right to use the artwork for promoting your e-book/for personal use such as on your own website and making your own print.
- crediting me as the artist is really appreciated.

if applicable, you are also buying the right to license your publisher to use the book cover in conjunction with your novel/short story.

I retain the artwork's copyright as well as the right to use it in my own galleries and promotions; however, I will always note and link your name/site when doing so.

I will not sell prints of the artwork unless you agree to it.

I will never sell rights for the artwork's use to anyone else. |
7. I will create a sketch based on your description of your idea (the more detailed, the better).

I will email you the sketch, after which you can request one significant change and a reasonable number of minor ones.

halfway through completion of the artwork, I will email you an in-progress image, after which you can again request (reasonable) minor changes.

after this, I won't make any more changes.

any significant changes above and beyond these may be done after we renegotiate the price of the commission - so it's important to catch all the changes in the early stages! |
4. you are buying a high res digital image (600dpi tiff file).

if you would like I can also send you a jpg sized for online use or your publisher's use (otherwise you can resize the high-res version to your liking). |
8. you're welcome to send me inspirational images or reference pictures to explain what you want.

however, I won't copy anything (photos, celebrities' likenesses, existing covers or artworks) exactly. |
What You Can Commission |
look around my gallery to get a feel for my artistic style, especially in the book covers I've already done.
my art is influenced by Japanese manga/anime & Disney animation.
I like art nouveau, intricate details & ornamentation, and symbolism.
I don't do cars, machines, robots, large industrial cityscapes, architecture, etc.
my art is strongly focused on humans--or elves, faeries, kemonomimi (humans with animal features), humanoid aliens, etc! it's figure-centric and fashion-centric; I love costume design.
